I want to go fast, bottom line. there are superchargers and there are turbos, I am not going to be throwing a billion pounds of boost to the engine. I understand that more than likely any additional boost to an engine is probably technically safe but when you are rolling with an LS in a GSR world ya just gotta go faster. I'm looking at around 7-10 pounds of boost. Any sugestions are greatly apperciated

If you want bottom line fast and don't want to change cars, go turbo.

You said you wanted flat out the best acceleration, Turbo will give you that. SC's are nice for daily driving and maybe AutoX but for straight line, massive power, you can't beat turbo that I've seen on this board. Turbo guys build power a bit later BUT they will topple any SC setup's TQ or HP. The only negatives is that here in CA there aren't legal kits that I know of that are good and cops will give you trouble if you install a front mount. I don't think there's too much to argue over what has ended up the best power adder for a true street machine because a stripped down NA car builds power even later without the torque. I'm sure others will give their 2 cents soon. If you want the SC vs. Turbo debate, search our previous billion posts about it. If you want the best flat out acceleration, that's the way to go.

Ditto.... Plus, the LS engine works way, way better with a turbo than with a supercharger.

Even if you're not aiming for extreme power, I'd recommend a turbo for your LS. Actually, I'd always recommend turbo for LS engines.

IMO, only the b18c and b16 engines work well enough with a supercharger that there is an argument for supercharging. Everyone else should just head for the turbo camp.

Just my $.02 on the turbo from the LS/RS camp:

Power= Turbo. Hands down. But the SC is legal, and if you get it running correctly, the SC can be alot of fun... check out my sig below.

Had I learned more about this stuff in the beginning, I would have gone turbo, but no going back now. (yes, player haters, I have a SC on my LS, and I like it tongue $$$. But, I'm running mid 14's, which is good for my level of tuning/$$$. Fun either way, but be prepared to ride credit card balances!

Thanks for cheering me up, Chuck!

    Just noticed the times. Holden @ 10 psi and 96IntegraRS @ 9 psi. Holden = 13.566 & 96IntegraRS = 14.66! IMO 14.66 is not that bad compared with a GS-R(@ 10 psi no less).

BTW, not knocking your car Greg smile

I understand that! But, On a B18B I think 14.66 is a very respectable time with a JRSC. Ecspecially, when compared with a JRSC'd B18C1 @ 10 lbs of boost.
